/TNC Kazchrome JSC, September 27, 05, headline - KASE/ - The increased demand for Kazakhstan's ferrochrome on the world market demands to increase lump chrome ore production. Building of a workshop for pellets production on Donskoy OMPE, which started in November of 2003 is meant for this task solution. It's value is that in presence of high concentration of chrome oxide (50%) pellets have resistance for transportation to long distances, reloading and influence of atmospheric precipitations.

Building of the workshop with the capacity of 700 th. tons of pellets per year lets reduce lump ore extraction from the company's mines. Besides, building of the workshop lets solve one more problem. The second concentrating mill of the enterprise was set in exploitation in 1988 with the shortened scheme - i.e. with concentration of only large fractions ore. Poor ore and intermediate product were sent to temporary warehouses. By the beginning of 2004 there were accumulated about 6 m. tons of this odds.

In order to prevent further accumulation of the odds in year 2004 the enterprise built a workshop for small class ore concentration with the capacity of 400 th. tons of concentrate per year. However its does not have markets. The workshop solves this problem producing a valuable product for ferroalloys producers.

About USD50 m. have been spent for building the workshop.

Donskoy OMPE together with the institute-designer reduced expenses for building having placed main objects in the existing building on the building site of the second concentration mill, which was built in the end of 80ies but was not exploited.

In addition there have been built production rooms of 1.5 th. sq. m. Setting the workshop in exploitation will give 80 new workplaces.
