/KASE, May 5, 2026/ – Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) has published on its website a review of the Index of Business Activity in Kazakhstan (BAI) for April 2026, which was prepared by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan based on the results of a monthly survey of enterprises and includes a set of enterprises' answers to questions regarding actual changes in economic indicators of enterprises and expectations regarding their change in the future.

The BAI is an indicator that characterizes the state of the economy in the real sector, allows you to explore the dynamics of economic trends, critical and turning points of the business cycle.

According to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

"In April 2026, business activity improved significantly, with the indicator moving into positive territory and reaching 50.7.

The dynamics of the business activity index improved significantly across all sectors except the mining industry. At the same time, the indices for production, service, and construction were in the growth area, making 53.7, 51.0, and 50.4 respectively (in March – 50.6, 50.7, and 44.9). In the mining industry and trade, the indicators remained in the contraction area, making 48.5 and 49.1 respectively (in March – 49.6 and 48.2). In production, there was a noticeable increase in the volume of new orders, employment levels, and output of new products.".
