In the first half of 2025, despite a 2.2% increase in freight turnover, the specific energy consumption per tonne-kilometer decreased from 4.23 to 4.16 tonnes of conventional fuel per million tonne-kilometers, or by 1.65% compared to the same period of the previous year, confirming an improvement in the company's operational efficiency.
KazTransOil JSC continuously implements measures to improve energy efficiency. In 2024, the company reduced its total energy consumption by 2.8%, or 3,898 tonnes of conventional fuel, compared to 2023. This reduction was achieved through the optimization of operating modes of trunk oil pipelines, the use of temperature maps for the "hot" routes Uzen – Zhetybai – Aktau and Uzen – Atyrau – Samara, and the modernization of pump units at the Zhetybai oil pumping station (OPS) and the Pavlodar main oil pumping station (MOPS).
In the first half of 2025, similar pump unit replacement projects were carried out at the T. Kasymov OPS and the Kalamkas MOPS. Reduced energy consumption contributes not only to improved energy efficiency but also to the overall resilience of the oil transportation system.
