/IRBIS, November 11, 2011/ - Rompetrol Rafinare completed the installation of six of the nine industrial projects to modernize the refinery Petromidia, reports the press service of JSC "National Company "KazMunayGas".

As noted, the full completion of the modernization plan "investment package 2010-2012" is planned in the first quarter of 2012, the total value of capital investment is 367 million U.S. dollars.

"The investment package will help refinery Petromidia enter into the list of the best refineries in Southern and Eastern Europe. Upon completion of this project Petromidia refinery could in full amount go to the processing of Kazakh oil, while providing quality products in accordance with the standards of Euro 5", - said the Vice- President of Business Development The Rompetrol Group Gavit Kurkimov.

As indicated, after the completion of reconstruction, Petromidia refinery to increase refining from 3.7 million tons to 5 million tons per year by recycling 100% of crude oil "Urals". Moreover, the refinery will increase the selection of diesel fuel from 37% to 45% and will continue to produce high-quality fuels that meet all regulations and legislation of the European Union.

"The process of reconstruction of the refinery Petromidia is part of the strategy of the National Company "KazMunayGas" to consolidate and expand its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, which has Rompetrol gas stations, as well as in Turkey, Serbia and Greece, - G. As noted, Rompetrol Group has set itself the task to process in the current year total volume of 4.17 million tons of crude oil (3.94 million tons) and master the investment worth 216 million U.S. dollars, of which $180 million - in the framework of the program to increase the processing capacity of refinery Petromidia.
