The Minister of Transport and communication of Kazakhstan ordered to work out prospective plans of airports' development to 2014
/IRBIS, July 28, 2011/ - Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliyev held a meeting with the leaders of the Republic airport on avia security and development of airport infrastructure, inviting representatives of airline "Air Astana", "Stingray", "Euro-Asia Air", "NWF "SK" as well as law enforcement officials, reported the press service of the Ministry.
"The head of transport department Berik Kamaliyev separately discussed the issues of aviation security at airports, including the problems of equipping technical means for inspection of passengers and baggage, with modern equipment to search for and detect explosives, as well as the training of these services", - was stated in the message.
As noted, the Ministry carried out some work on the development of airports in the country over the last five years in six airports (Almaty, Aktobe, Aktau, Pavlodar, Kyzylorda, Shymkent), reconstruction of existing facilities and building new airports. The total investment for these purposes amounted to over 25 billion tenge, including 13.5 billion tenge from the national budget.
"The minister also stressed that along with this there are still many unsolved questions, and therefore the attention should be paid to: the need for reconstruction of infrastructure of regional airports;
update of machinery to service the aircraft and passengers, the quality of the provision of airport services" - was stated in the message.
As indicated, B. Kamaliyev reminded the criticisms, given by the head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev June 3 this year at a meeting to discuss issues concerning development of Astana flight delays "Air Astana" and his instruction to deal with this situation.
"The Minister noted that in this regard some work has been done. First of all, has been set up operational headquarters, which conducts daily monitoring of flights at airports in Almaty and Astana, the increased number of flights airlines alternative route Astana - Almaty, the plan for the acquisition of new aircraft carriers. In that tightened the administrative responsibility of the heads of airlines and airports, and therefore made the appropriate changes to the Code of Administrative Violations. Nevertheless, the issue of regularity is still relevant", - was stated in the message.
On the issues discussed the owners and managers of airports have spoken, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies.
Following the meeting Minister B. Kamaliyev identified specific actions and deadlines to ensure safety, improve the services provided by airports with the comments voiced at this meeting, along with the owners of airports commissioned to develop a long-term plans for airport development to 2014 with an indication of funding sources.
