Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC ("ENRC" or, together with its subsidiaries, the "Group") today announces the appointment of Jose Francisco Martins de Viveiros as Chief Executive Officer of ENRC in Brazil with immediate effect.

Jose joins ENRC from ArcelorMittal Mineracao Serra Azul S/A, where he was CEO. Jose will oversee the development of ENRC's iron ore assets in Brazil and will lead a 175-strong team of employees based in Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Caetite, Aritagua and Salinas.

Jose is a highly experienced mining executive, having spent over 35 years in the mining and metallurgical industry. After initially training as a geologist he worked at a number of mining companies, predominantly in Brazil, and has held several senior management positions within Vale and ArcelorMittal.

Felix J Vulis, CEO of ENRC, commented: "I am delighted that we have appointed Jose Viveiros to lead our operations in Brazil. We have developed a strong presence in iron ore in the region through the acquisitions of BMSA (formerly "the BML Project") and MIBA, and of a 51% interest in MPB.
