/IRBIS, May 31, 2011/ - JSC "Exploration Production KazMunaiGas" ("KMG EP" or the "Company") reports on casualties in the daily oil production in connection with the protest action, which takes place in the production branch "Ozenmunaygaz (OMG) in Zhanaozen (Mangistau region).

As indicated in the report released today by the company, some workers of OMG, first of all, the transport industry, not went to work. Partial house arrest of machinery necessary for the implementation of capital and underground repair of wells was noted.

"The company believes that the demands of protesters were unfounded, as confirmed by a court of Zhanaozen on May 24, 2011. In addition, the administration of Zhanaozen hasn't granted permission to conduct this campaign. Thus, the protest was illegal", - was indicated in the message.

It is reported that daily production loss due to violations of service wells compared to May 25, 2011 (prior to the protest) is about 2,000 tons. The degree of influence on the performance of annual production of the Company depends on how quickly will be restored stable production activities of the branch.

"Currently, the Company shall take all necessary measures to maintain continuity of oil production and safety at work sites of OMG. In accordance with the Labor Code, for violation of labor discipline several participants of the illegal protest were fired", - was stated in the message.
