The ministers of transport of Kazakhstan and Belarus have discussed the actual issues of bilateral partnership
/IRBIS, May 24, 2011/ - On May 23, 2011 Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliyev met with the Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Ivan Scherbo, the press service of MTC reported.
As indicated, during the meeting the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in transport, including the development of the sphere of transport, taking into account the formation of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.
It was noted that in general the positive dynamics of development of international traffic on the Belarusian-Kazakh direction and the presence of the economic preconditions for more efficient use of transport infrastructure in Kazakhstan and Belarus.
"The dynamics of interaction between Kazakhstan and Belarus as traditional partners in the field of international transportation and the joint efficiency of transport infrastructure between the two countries are characterized by positive trends in the development potential of the Belarusian-Kazakh cooperation, sequential formation of conditions for improvement in this field. Between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Belarus the juridical framework for the implementation of passengers and goods by all modes of transport was formed", - was stated in the message.
As stated, the achieved arrangement under the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia let simplify the movement of vehicles on a single customs territory, greatly facilitate the maintenance of existing trade flows and develop new areas of cargo movement.
During the meeting, Minister B. Kamaliyev informed about the main activities of the ministry. In particular, he noted that prior to the transport industry of the country faces great challenges in implementing the State Program for accelerated industrial and innovative development for 2010-2014. At the moment, large infrastructure projects are being implemented, the mechanisms for implementing public-private partnership are worked out and perfected, developing a network of transport and logistic systems.
"The parties noted that under a Customs Union Common Economic Space there are prospects for goods traffic in a communication with Kazakhstan, including straight speed container trains" - was indicated in a statement.
In order to attract traffic volumes Belarusian Railways it was decided to establish in 2011 to transport container from Lithuania to Kazakhstan in transit through Kazakhstan to China along the route Gudogay-Osinovka/Zakopyte in the opposite direction of tariff rates at the level of operating the transport of containers by train combined transport "Viking", which is below the rate of Tariff Policy of CIS countries.
The parties agreed to continue work on the implementation of planned activities to enhance cooperation in the field of transport. Following the meeting, a Protocol was signed.
