/IRBIS, May 5, 2011/ - On May 5 in Astana the ceremony of quenching postage stamp dedicated to the anniversary date - 10 th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization - and Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the organization was held - reports the press service of Kazpost.

As indicated, on the founding day of the SCO, June 15, Astana will host the jubilee summit of the organization.

"On the eve of the summit Kazpost, supporting the desire of Kazakhstan in achieving the priorities of the SCO, the maintenance of peace, security and stability in Central Asia, released the 10 th anniversary of SCO, and Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the SCO commemorative postage stamp," - was stated in the message.

The stamp depicts the SCO logo and text composition in Kazakh, Russian, English and Chinese. The price is 210 tenge, the size 28 x 40 mm, circulation 50 000 pcs, offset printing, is made in 4 colors, perforation comb. Artist is Daniyar Mukhamedzhanov. Commemorative postage stamps are 729-I in the collection of stamps of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Festive ceremony of quenching postage stamp was attended by Arken Arystanov - Chairman of the Board of Kazpost, Muratbek Imanaliev - Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Shahrat Nuryshev - National Coordinator of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
