The Internet Data Center (IDC) of Kazakhtelecom was opened on August 10, 2010. Under the project which is being implemented on the order of the head of state pursuing to develop the Internet service market, four centers like this operate in Kazakhstan today: in Almaty, Astana, Kyzylorda, Atyrau.

"IDC - is a new level of development of Internet services in Kazakhstan, it gives an opportunity to feel home on the web. This is a huge area for creation of content resources. Thanks to the development of IDC, Kazakhstan users will be able to independently create in the Internet its resources - sites, portals. The operation of the Data Center will facilitate further development of the Kazakhstan Internet, - Anatoliy Bachikalov Kazakhtelecom's IT commercial director said at the ceremony.

IDC is a complex of equipment and software. IDC - are centers for data processing, providing a rage of modern communications services and allowing for reliable and safe storing large amount of data.

According to General Director of the South Kazakhstan Telecommunications administration Nurly Bektursunov IT is becoming more and more popular in the business and services. Automatic management systems are operating at large and many mid-size companies. At the same time there is a growing demand on heavy' multimedia content. "However creation of own information infrastructure requires for many serious issues to be settled, from elaboration of the information system concept to development of corresponding documentation. In this regard the Internet Data Center is essential for the time being" - said N. Bektursunov.

IDC is offering companies and individuals a range of services: free of charge e-mail; virtual hosting branded iD Host (hosting of client websites at center servers); Сo-location (hosting of client servers); Dedicated (dedicated server, equipment rent); protection of information; system administration; virtual office and etc.

Besides, IDC will be used by the government for rendering electronic services to population.

Currently on the basis of commissioned IDCs Kazakhtelecom is rendering services to roughly 1270 clients, of which 700 are enjoying hosting. Among Data Center clients - owners of Internet-resources hitting Тор 20 Kazakh websites: Kiwi.kz - Kazakhstan video service, Kazakhstan Portal NUR, Information portal ZAKON.KZ, Game portal GAMEWORLD.KZ, Kaztorka.kz, OMEGA.KZ , FLIP.KZ, Rabota.kz etc.

In H2 Y2010 it is planned to launch IDCs in another 7 regional centers.
