Customs Code of the Customs Union came into force on July 6, 2010

/IRBIS, July 7, 2010/ - Customs Code of the Customs Union between Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan came into force on July 6, 2010. The decision embodied in the Joint Statement of Heads of States of the Customs Union on July 5 in Astana at a meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council (the highest authority of the Customs Union), the press office of the President.

As indicated in the relations between the three countries he will apply from July 6 of this year, and in relations between Russia and Kazakhstan in effect since July 1, 2010.

Also from July 6 between the three countries formed a single customs territory. The Heads of State of the Customs Union agreed on the need to foster the development of agreements on forming single economic space among the three countries. All arrangements for SES should be developed to January 1, 2011.

As noted in the press service of the President of Belarus' Customs duties on crude oil and petroleum products will be lifted for Belarus after the signing and ratification of our country's entire package of documents on creation of the Single Economic Space of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. The decision embodied in the Protocol on certain temporary exemptions from mode operation of a single customs territory of the Customs Union, which was signed simultaneously with the decision on the enactment of the Customs Code.

Thus, the customs duty on crude oil and petroleum products to Belarus will be removed automatically, regardless of when the documents to sign and ratify the EEA Russia and Kazakhstan.

Also, the heads of the EurAsEC states signed the new version of the statute of the court community. Under the new statute, the Court of the EurAsEC will be able to adjudicate disputes and economic problems that arise in the functioning of the Customs Union. He will also be able to make decisions binding, including, in cases against the Commission of the Customs Union. Right to appeal to the Court of the EurAsEC (other than the States - members of the EurAsEC and the Customs Union) provided EurAsEC organs, organs of the Customs Union and the economic entities of the Customs Union. Such changes are entirely in the interests of Belarus. In addition, reaffirmed the intention of the Customs Union on accession to the WTO on a consolidated basis.

The next meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council at the level of Heads of State held in the second half of December 2010 in Moscow.
