Real Estate Fund Samruk-Kazyna developers and the Association of Kazakhstan don't fulfill the obligation for payment and purchase of cement - Anti-monopoly Agency

/IRBIS, March 19, 2010/ - March 15, 2010 at the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Protection of Competition (Antitrust Agency) held a meeting on compliance with the Memorandum of cooperation between the JSC Real Estate Fund Samruk-Kazyna, the Association of Kazakh developers and manufacturers of cement, signed in May 2009, stated in the published report of the Antimonopoly Agency.

Reportedly, one of the main conditions of detention of the said Memorandum was a commitment on the part of JSC Real Estate Fund Samruk-Kazyna developers and the Association of Kazakhstan on purchasing cement.

"At the same time, monitoring of implementation of the commitments of the Agency's evidence of dereliction of duty by the JSC Real Estate Fund Samruk- Kazyna builders and the Association of Kazakhstan on timely payment and purchase of cement", - stated in the message.

It is pointed out that cement manufacturers have been noted about the need for renegotiation of the Memorandum in 2010, taking into account current market conditions and determines the need for cement for the implementation of the planned volume of major nationwide construction.

In this regard, it was decided the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency for Construction and Housing, together with the concerned authorities need to prepare the regions of the cement in 2010.

"Participants were warned that in case of detecting abuse of dominance, the conclusion of anticompetitive agreements and concerted action by the Agency in conjunction with other public bodies will prevent the violation of antimonopoly legislation by market participants," - says.
