/IRBIS, Vitaliy Tomskiy, July 1, 08/ - For initial 6 months of 2008, the volume of foreign exchange transactions concluded on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) reached $38,783.2 m. and decreased relatively to the corresponding period last year by $1,317.8 m. or by 3.29% in dollar equivalent. In tenge equivalent the turnover decreased by 5.15 %.
The table specifies the volumes of foreign exchange transactions on KASE in 2008 grouped by months and types of currencies and comparable to the data of 2007.

Speed of tenge devaluation to dollar by stock exchange rate is estimated in the current year at 0.89 % APR as of June 30, 2008. For initial six months the level of tenge devaluation to dollar in nominal expression made 0.37 %.
