Message from the Chairperson of the Management Board of KASE

Adil Mukhamejanov
Adil MukhamejanovChairperson of the Management Board of KASE
Sustainability governance is an integral component of the KASE Group Development Strategy and directly supports the achievement of our mission and long-term objectives. Sustainability considerations are embedded across strategic planning, corporate governance, risk management, human capital management, and other core business processes of KASE.

In 2025, KASE entered a period of meaningful internal transformation. We established a renewed leadership structure while maintaining a firm commitment to the ESG agenda. We believe that progress must be consistent, measurable, and transparent – grounded in a clearly defined baseline, structured forward planning, and objective assessment of performance against stated targets. This approach strengthens accountability, reinforces stakeholder confidence, and enhances our ability to respond to evolving market conditions.

In the near term, our priority is to cultivate a professional ESG community within the KASE ecosystem, bringing together market participants and users of sustainable finance instruments. As a market infrastructure institution, KASE performs both infrastructural and methodological roles. We have the capacity to set standards, shape market practices, and create enabling conditions for the development of sustainable finance. Our focus is on demonstrating the tangible business value of ESG principles – as tools to enhance investment attractiveness, strengthen risk management, and support long-term corporate resilience.

Employee engagement remains central to our sustainability strategy. Sustainable development cannot be achieved without the active participation of our people. Training and professional development are therefore strategic priorities. The establishment of the KASE Academy has institutionalized a structured approach to competency development, including ESG and climate-related risk management, both within KASE and across the broader market.

Our human capital approach is formalized in the KASE Human Resources Policy, grounded in principles of equal opportunity, non-discrimination, professional growth, and transparent HR processes.

We are committed to advancing gender balance at all levels of governance: women represent 50% of middle management, 40% of the Management Board, and 18% of the Board of Directors.

For KASE, people are a strategic asset and the foundation of long-term sustainability.

We continue to strengthen partnerships with public authorities, industry associations, and market participants, focusing on the development of a robust regulatory and methodological framework for sustainable finance. Internationally, KASE participates in the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (UN SSE), the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA), and relevant sustainable finance working groups of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and the Federation of Euro-Asian Capital Markets (FEAS).

Our path is deliberate and structured. KASE is building a resilient institution – open, transparent, and focused on long-term value creation and the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s capital market ecosystem.
