GDP of Eurozone in the second quarter of 2009 has decreased to 0.1 %

/IRBIS, 13.08.09/- during the second quarter of 2009 the gross national product (GDP) of Eurozone (EA16) has decreased to 0.1 %, informed the Statistical Agency of European Union Eurostat on August, 13. The GDP in EU27 zone for the similar period decreased to 0.3%. In comparison with the second quarter of 2008 GDP level have fallen to 4.6% in Eurozone and in EU27 to 4.8%. Seasonally corrected level of GDP in the second quarter of current year was reduced in Eurozone to 4.6 % and on 4.8 % in EU27 in comparison with the second quarter of 2008 and decreased to 4.9 % and 4.7 % in Eurozone and EU27 accordingly in comparison with GDP of first quarter of 2009. THE NOTE Eurozone (EA16) includes Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Finland.
