ADB plans to offer bonds at $3 bn., possibly, in Kazakhstan and Indonesia

/INTERFAX-AFI, Deli, May 5, 06/ - Asian development bank (ADB) plans to borrow about $3 bn. at the expense of selling bonds till the end of this year, and for the first time in can propose debt obligations to investors in Kazakhstan and Indonesia. "Securities share in foreign currency will probably increase, we expect demand on local bonds from public borrowers, particularly from local governments and state enterprises," stated Huan Limandibrat, the head of financial department of the bank, in the interview to Bloomberg agency in Deli on Thursday. According to his words, ADB intends to issue bonds, denominated in currencies of Kazakhstan and Indonesia, this year and in the beginning of the next year. Funds, obtained from offering, will be spent on financing infrastructure and bank projects. He added that the bank also considers the opportunity to offer bonds in Philippine peso and Indian rupees this year. ADB has already borrowed $2 bn. from bonds offering. Taking into account announced plans; sales volume of securities by results of 2006 will total $5 bn., which exceeds the indicator of the last year by 19%. Currently 64 countries and organizations are parts of ADB, that was organized in 1966, 46 of them present Asiatic region.
