Real salary has increased in February 2006 by 15.5% - Statistics Agency

/The Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 13.04.06/ - Nominal average monthly salary of the working person in February 2006 was at KZT36,465 and has increased by 25.5% in nominal and 15.5% in real terms compared to the same period of the last year. February salary increase is indicated in all economic sectors. The wage payments level in the financial sector has risen by 42.4%, construction by 31.6%, production by 21.3% and realty operations sector wage levels has increased by 20.9% compared to the February 2005 As before, financial sector workers remained with the highest salary - KZT103 509 or 2.8 times more than average wage level in Kazakhstan, mineral recourse sector's wage level is KZT60,442 or 1.7 times more than average, transport and communications - KZT51,502 or 1.4 times more than average, and hotel-restaurants business - KZT46,855 that is 1.3 times more than average. Average salary of the public sector workers was at KZT34,295 in February and went up by 31.7% compared to the previous year, education sector's salary level is KZT23,335, 30.1% more than previously, and healthcare sector wage was at KZT20,081, which is 32.9% more than in February last year. However the wage level of these economic sectors is 36-45% less than the average salary level in Kazakhstan. Lowest salary is still in the agricultural sector. Despite its significant rise (32.7% more than in February 2005), the sector's salary is KZT14,379 that is 2.5 times less than the state average. If to compare regions, highest wages are still in Mangystau region - KZT59,954 (1.6 times higher than the state average) and Atyrau region - KZT65,184 (1.8 times more), in Astana - KZT55,356, and in Almaty - KZT53,399 (1.5 times more each). Eleven regions have salary levels, which are below the average salary level in Kazakhstan.
