/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, February 15, 06/ - Kazakhstan's government in the first quarter of this year will include changes and additions in legal acts for activity of Samruk state assets management holding, Daniyal Akhmetov country's prime-minister said. He says the government has approved memorandum on major principles of the holding's activity. Besides, "list of national companies and other joint-stock companies, whose state blocks of shares will be transferred to the holding's authorized capital, has been determined", Akhmetov said. The prime-minister has marked that holding's foundation "will let introduce modern corporate governance methods, make coordination of strategic plans of branch companies and consider priority directions of government's actions in them". "In the future policy in state assets management sphere will be directed towards reduction of state's presence in competitive sectors of economy for small and medium business development, increase of state entrepreneurship efficiency and improve of quality of services rendered for population", - Akhmetov said. Before officials said it was planned to give state stakes in Kazakhtelecom JSC, Kazpost JSC and KEGOC JSC to this JSC's authorized capital. Kayrat Kelimbetov minister of economy and budget planning of Kazakhstan offers to limit Samruk's portfolio with shareholdings of 20-25 big companies. "State companies' sizes as well as their meaning for country's economy must be the criteria of selecting state companies in the state holding's portfolio.
