Country's head signed decree about foundation of state assets management holding; Sauat Mynbayev appointed the company's acting head

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, January 31, 06/ - Nursultan Nazarbayev Kazakhstan's president has signed decree about foundation of National holding company Samruk JSC, a source in the government said to "Interfax-Kazakhstan" on Tuesday. Sauat Mynbayev has been appointed for the post of the company's acting chairman. Before Nazarbayev charged the government with foundation of the state holding, to which it was planned to give state debts in the national companies and republic's state ventures. In November of 2005 Kazakhstan's government attracted McKinsey and international consulting company to working out of the business-plan on the state holding foundation. On December 23 of 2005 official governmental sources informed that it was planned to include state debts of Kazakhtelecom JSC, Kazpost JSC and KEGOC JSC in the state holding on state assets management. 50% and 1 share in Kazakhtelecom JSC belong to the state, and Kazpost JSC and KEGOC JSC are entirely state-owned companies. Nevertheless, on January 23 of this year Nazarbayev said he did not exclude that a foreigner might head the holding. 43-year old Mynbayev is a graduate of MSU, economist-hybernetician, candidate of economic sciences. Since June of 2003 worked as the vice- premier, and since December of 2004 headed also the ministry of industry and trade. However he was not included in the staff of the new government formed by January 23. [2006-02-01]
