Net gold and foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan in current prices totaled $8,637 m. as on October 31, 2005

/IRBIS, Natalya Khoroshevskaya, November 2, 05/ - According to information
of REUTERS agency with reference to press release of the National Bank of
Kazakhstan, its net international reserves (GFER) excluding money of the
National Fund of Kazakhstan increased in current prices within a month by
$334 m. and as on October 31, 2005 equaled to $8,637 m.
Foreign currency inflows to Government's accounts were partially neutralized
by expenses on servicing of external debt of the Ministry of finance and
replenishment of the National Fund's assets. As a result net currency
reserves increased by $332.1 m. Assets in gold increased by $2.4 m. as a
result of operations carried out by the National bank.
Country's international reserves as a whole (in current prices), i.e. including
money of the National Fund (according to preliminary data $5,8573 m.), have
grown by $0.6 bn. relative to previous month and equaled to $14.5 bn.
Monetary base decreased in a month by KZT1.6 bn. to KZT640.7 bn. as of
October 31, 2005.
