Mining and smelting concern Kazakhaltyn JSC (Kazakhstan) informed about realization of large-SCALE PRODUCTION modernization program

/KASE, October 17, 05/ - Mining and smelting concern Kazakhaltyn JSC (Spepnogorsk), whose bonds are traded in Kazakhstan stock exchange's (KASE) official "A" listing category, informed KASE that the company with a view to increase production volume and improve its quality realized four big projects. According to the company's information in July of the current year two gold extractive factories (GEF) were placed in operation: Aksu with processing productivity 1m. tons of ore a year and Zholymbet with productivity 520 th. tons of ore a year. GEF Aksu plans to output gold as an alloy of Dore in volume 1.5 tons a year, GEF Zholymbet - 1.7 tons a year. The company promises, "these factories became the first in Kazakhstan, using prospective and highly efficient technology of mineral raw staff getter cyanidation. Besides, in August two complexes of gold heap leaching (CHL) were placed in production exploitation in mines Aksu with productivity 500 th. tons of ore a year and Bestobe with productivity 1 m. tons a year". The company started realization of the above four projects last year. For their financing Mining and smelting concern Kazakhaltyn JSC borrowed credit funds in the amount over $35 m. "New projects allow the concern to go from sale of market-small liquid production - floatation concentrate, where gold content is 30-90 gr/tone. Along with this new technologies allow to process accumulated during many ten years wastes of gold extractive factories (flotation tails), where gold content is 1-1.2 gr/tone, and also to obtain ligature gold as Dore alloy", - informational message says. The company plans in 2005 to increase summary volume of gold production to 2.8 tons. In 2006 it is planned to realize two new projects-CHL in Zholymbet mine and put into operation new GEF in Bestobe mine, as a result of which gold output volume will be over 8 tons. For 2005 GEF Aksu planned to output gold in 594 kg, in 2006 - 1,781 kg, GEF Bestobe- 1,134 kg and 1,487 kg correspondingly, GEF Zholymbet 366.7 kg and 881 kg, CHL Aksu - 727 kg and 1615 kg, CHL Bestobe - 15 kg and 1,548 kg, CHL Zholymbet in 2006 - 1,260 kg. The company plans in 2005 and 2006 to output: slimes - 467 kg and 613 kg, concentrate - over 538 kg and 874 kg, Dore alloy - 1.7 tons and 7.0 tons. [2005-10-17]
