Branch of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC - KBOC starts development of Eastern-Ayatskiy bauxite field

/Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC, July 14, 05, heading - KASE/ - Krasnooktyabrskiy bauxite ore control (KBOC), with total volume of ore production more than 4 m. tons a year, took the baton from Torgaisk bauxite ore control. History of KBOC began from establishment of Kozyrevsk ore control in Kostanai oblast in 1950, which specialized in production of iron ore. Since 1962 simultaneously with iron ore bauxites were perfected, which were used as deoxidizer of metallurgy slag. In 1964 the mine supplied first development batch to Pavlodar aluminium plant (today - Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC). If in 1965 metallurgist loaded 122 th. tons of bauxite, in 1986 - 1.5 m. tons. In 1996 ore control was included in Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC. Growing need of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC in bauxite, and also decreasing resources of Torgaisk bauxite ore control, proposed KBOC on the position of main supplier of raw materials to enterprise. In 2004 miners loaded 3895 th. tons of bauxite, 2005 plan - 4240 th. tons. Today KBOC is one the biggest mining enterprises on production of bauxite in CIS. It consists of 3 mines: Ayatskiy, Belinskiy and Krasnooktyabrskiy. The last develops the biggest bauxite field of the same name in Kazakhstan, its geological reserves (as on January 1, 2005) are nearly 126.6 m. tons. Field was started to be developed in 1970s, but active development started in 1998, when specialists of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC elaborated technological scheme for processing of high-carbonate Krasnooktyabrskiy bauxites. KBOC in its prospects has development of Eastern-Ayatskiy bauxite field. Particularly, we are talking about central lot with geologic reserve 28.8 m. tons. When procedure of contract conclusion will be completed till the end of 2005 works on development of the field will be started. Realization of this project is new epoch in development of not only ore control, but also all aluminium branch of the republic. This raw material is for growing production volumes of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC in connection with construction of Kazakhstan electrolysis plant JSC in Pavlodar. Simultaneously KBOC develops 10-12 opencast mine of various capacities. Management of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC pays big attention to development of raw materials source for ore control. During last 9 years (1996-2004) 8 excavators, self-propelled crushing plant and tens of units of auxiliary techniques (diesel locomotive, bulldozers, loaders, transport means) have been purchased. Total in development of ore control during this period Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC invested more than KZT6.5 bn. Last years conditions of work and life of miners and support personnel have been improved. Today 2262 people are working in KBOC. Social package of KBOC employees includes servicing in aid post, organization of children rest during summer holidays in pioneer camp in Schuchinsk-Borovskoy health resort zone, in Lisakovsk preventorium. Besides, management of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC, taking into account, that the territory of Kostanai oblast has two subdivisions, which compose source of raw materials (KBOC and TBOC), renders charity assistance to children, medical, social institutions. In January-June 2005 KBOC miners loaded 2104.6 th. tons of bauxite (106.1% to the level of similar period of 2004), which meets the requirements of technical conditions. It was mined 2022.6 th. tons (103.1%) of ore, removing the overburden have been completed in the volume 11128.8 th. m3 (100.7%). In the honor of anniversary 236 workers of ore control were awarded with valuable presents, diplomas and money premiums.
