FSA of Kazakhstan characterized the republic's corporate securities market as of May 1, 2005

/IRBIS, Assel Omarova, May 17, 05/ - Kazakhstan agency for financial
market and financial organizations regulation and supervision (FSA) in its
scheduled press-release dedicated to the condition of the republic's financial
market gives information about development of Kazakhstan corporate
securities market.
In particular FSA informs that as of May 1 of 2005 there were registered
2,510 joint-stock companies with acting share issues in Kazakhstan. 59
broker-dealers, 18 registrars, 10 banks-custodians, 10 pension assets
investment management organizations (PAIMO) and 18 organizations
controlling securities portfolios acted at securities market.
In April of 2005 there were registered 27 share issues (including those to
which amendments were made), 2 bond program with notional value of
KZT2.1 bn, 5 corporate bond issues with total face value of KZT26 bn.
(registered under bond programs), 49 share issues were annulled.
As of May 2,766 acting share issues and 123 existing corporate bond issues
with total face value of KZT465.9 bn. in circulation.
As of May 1 of 2005 seven mutual funds was registered. As of May 1 thirteen
mutual funds were carrying investment management at securities market (9
closed funds, 3 open and 1 interval fund).
In April five new bonds issues including (eighths issue bonds of Halyk
savings bank of Kazakhstan JSC, ninth and tenth issue notes of Kazakhstan
Mortgage Company JSC, first issue bonds of GLOTUR JSC and foruth issue
bonds of VITA JSC) and one preferred shares issue of Halyk savings bank
of Kazakhstan JSC were included in the official "A" listing category of
Kazakhstan stock exchange Inc. (here and afterwards - data of IRBIS).
Within the mentioned period 2 common shares issues (Industrial Company
Etalon JSC and Glotur JSC) were included in KASE's official "B" listing
category. Second issue bonds of Astana-Finance JSC were excluded from
the "A" listing due to redemption.
FSA also informs that in April 2005 FSA Board adopted following legislative
acts:
- "On amendments and additions to the Resolution of the Board of the
National bank of Kazakhstan dated October 27, 2003 #385 "On approval
of Rules of state registration of the corporate bond issue and inspection
of floatation results and redemption reports";
- "On approval of Instructions on requirements to technical means,
needed to conduct activities at securities market".
