Halyk savings bank of Kazakhstan JSC constantly increases capacities of Internet-Banking

/IRBIS, Natalya Kuznetsova, January 18, 05/ - Halyk savings bank of Kazakhstan JSC, whose shares and bonds are in Kazakhstan stock exchange's (KASE) official "A" listing category, today spread press-release containing results of work of Internet-Banking system in 2004. The press-release says during the year 2004 bank considerably expanded the list of organizations, to which clients of Internet-Banking system can transfer payments. Today there are 32 of them from 17 regions of Kazakhstan and 3 all-republican organizations, such as: Kar-Tel LLP, Nursat CJSC, Altel JSC, several regional branches of Kazakhtelecom JSC and AlmaTV CJSC, MAEC Kazatomprom LLP, Astanaenergoservice JSC, SUE (state utility enterprise) KostanayGas, Ust-Kamenogorsk heating systems OJSC, SUE Oral Su Arnasy, Access-energo LLP, Settlement service center LLP, Taraz gas equipment department LLP, SUE Kokshetau Su Arnasy, Aktyubinsk gas equipment department, SUE Semey-Vodokanal and other. Since April of 2004 Halyk savings bank of Kazakhstan JSC gives to clients the possibility to work, besides disks and smart cards, with a new key carrier - MiniKey (USB). In May there was added the possibility to pay off credits through the Internet, In November - make volunteer payments to any pension fund of Kazakhstan. Since March till December of 2004 internet- deposits participated in all-bank drawing of 2,000 valuable prizes. On November 19 the site of Internet-Banking system (www.mybank.kz) was one of the winners in the competition of Kazakhstan sites AWARD-2004 (www.award.kz), having taken the second place in the nomination "Electronic commerce" and having become one of five best sites of the competition in the opinion of internet users. It's also said that incomes of Internet-Banking system in the year 2004 grew by 21% to KZT51.7 m. in comparison with the previous year. Profitability received on Internet accounts in KZT was the biggest, total turnover there grew during the year from KZT13 bn. to KZT15.4 bn. Turnovers on internet accounts in other currencies reached following indicators: in USD - 3.5 m., in EUR - 3.3 m., in RUR - 29.7 m., in GBP - 0.4 m. Number of deposits opened through the internet has grown by 39%. In 2004 bank's clients were actively working with their Internet accounts on territories of 12 states. Users from European Union and Russia were most active. According to the latest statistics, Halyk savings bank of Kazakhstan JSC takes over 70% of Kazakhstan market of electronic banking services for physical persons. Internet-Banking system was officially started on June 1 of 2000 at 15.00 of Almaty time, when at one time in 17 biggest Kazakhstan cities heads of the regions, and in Almaty and in Astana the president and the prime-minister of the country opened the specialized structural branches - internet cash- offices (at present Personal Service Centers). On February 21 of 2004 Internet-Banking system became fully self- supporting. Expensive initial investments into building and equipment of Internet cash-offices and in safety software support in 17 biggest Kazakhstan cities were entirely repaid, all current expenses for personnel, support, upgrades and licenses for the past 3 years and 8 months of working were covered. Internet-Banking system is meant for physical persons. While registering the multi-currency Internet account is opened for a client. Internet accounts are opened in Personal Service Centers. In order to open an account it's enough to present the identity card and TIP. Opening of Internet account and its service is free. Clients can make operations in five currencies - KZT, USD, EUR. GBP, RUR. Tariffs in case of making operations independently through the Internet are much lower than standard bank tariffs.
