In January - September of 2004 Kazakhmys increased refined copper output to 323,646 tonnes

/REUTERS, Almaty, Tatyana Seroshtanova, October 5, 04/ - Kazakhstan copper
corporation Kazakhmys in January-September of 2004 increased refined copper
output up to 323,646 tonnes from 306,243 tonnes in similar period of last year,
the company informed.
In September the corporation produced 33,837 tonnes of refined copper.

Corporation Kazakhmys, which produces up to 90% of total volume of
Kazakhstan copper and which is one of 10 world copper producers, exports the
half of its production to China, the other half to European countries.
According to Kazakhstan stock exchange's data as of June 1 of 2004 company's
shareholders holding more than 5% of total number of floated shares were
Cuprum Holding B.V (25.75%), Harper Finance Limited (19.22), Samsung Hong
Kong Ltd. (18.01), Central securities depository CJSC (14.23), Korean Samsung
corporation (10.80), Dilon Enterprises Ltd. (5.08), Rego. Inc. (5.07%).
