KMG considers Atyrau-Samara pipeline capital repair

/Kazakhstan today, April 29, 04/ - NC KazMunayGas CJSC considers Atyrau - Samara pipeline capacity expansion to 20-25 m tones a year, Kairgeldy Kabyldin, KMG managing director, told international forum "Caspian Region: Politics, Economy, Business 2004" held today in Astana. "We are in talks with our Russian colleagues from Rosneft..." he said. In particular, Kabyldin holds that at present, possible ways of reconstruction of pipeline's existing capacity are being discussed. For that purposes, KMG and Rosneft created a task force that includes specialist of both companies. Current capacity of Atyrau - Samara pipeline allows transporting 15 m tones of oil a year. Moreover, Kabyldin informed that 20 m tn of oil is expected to be pumped and delivered through CPC. He recalled that in the last year oil through CPC totaled 15 m tn. According to him, CPC capacity will be doubled to 40 m by 2006. [2004-04-29]
