/S&P Global Ratings, February 21, 2025, heading by KASE/ – On February 21,
2025, S&P Global Ratings affirmed the long-term "BBB-" and short-term "A-3"
sovereign credit ratings of Kazakhstan. The outlook remains stable.
The translation and convertibility (T&C) assessment remains at "BBB". At the
same time, we affirmed our "kzAAA" rating on Kazakhstan's national scale for a
sovereign country.
The stable outlook on the long-term "BBB-" rating reflects our view that the
risks of protracted fiscal weakness and higher interest costs for the
government are mitigated by planned governance and economic reforms, as well as
Kazakhstan's strong asset buffers.
