Aluminium of Kazakhstan increased alumina output in the 1 quarter of 2004 to 359,000 tons

/REUTERS, Almaty, Tatyana Seroshtanova, April 9, 04/ - The only alumina producer in Central Asia - Aluminium of Kazakhstan OJSC - in the first quarter of 2004 increased alumina output up to 359,000 tons from 348,000 tons one year before, informed the press-service of Eurasian industrial association, which comprises the venture. Aluminium of Kazakhstan, which has produced 1.416 million tons of alumina in 2003, exports most part of outputted production to Russia's aluminium plants. The staff of Eurasian industrial association also comprises TNC Kazchrome (unites Aktyubinsk amd Aksu plants of ferroalloys and Don ore mining and processing combine), Sokolovsko-Sarbayskoye ore mining and processing amalgamation (SSOMPA), Eurasian energy corporation (EEC) in Pavlodar oblast and coal open cast Shubarkol Komir JSC in Karaganda oblast.
