Aluminium of Kazakhstan increased alumina production in 03/02 by 2.5%

/REUTERS, Almaty, Tatyana Seroshtanova, January 14, 04/ - The only alumina producer in Central Asia - Aluminium of Kazakhstan OJSC - in 2003 increased alumina production by 2.5% in comparison with 2002 up to 1.416 m. tons, informed the press-service of Eurasian industrial association, which comprises the venture. Before Aluminium of Kazakhstan planned an insignificant increase of volumes of alumina production to 1.40 m. tons from 1.38 m. tons in 2002. Aluminium of Kazakhstan exports most part of outputted production to Russia's aluminium plants. The staff of Eurasian industrial association also comprises TNC Kazchrome (unites Aktyubinsk amd Aksu plants of ferroalloys and Don ore mining and processing combine), Sokolovsko-Sarbayskoye ore mining and processing amalgamation (SSOMPA), Eurasian energy corporation (EEC) in Pavlodar oblast and coal open cast Shubarkol Komir JSC in Karaganda oblast.
