NAC Kazatomprom will appropriate KZT250 mn for major facilities replacement of MAEC Kazatomprom

/Kazakhstan today, December 29, 03/ - The management of MAEC Kazatomprom has developed a turnaround program. Baurzhan Ibrayev, the general director of MAEC Kazatomprom LLP informed about this fact at official celebration of the Power Engineer's day, a correspondent of KZ-today reports. Kazatomprom Company, the head company, spent KZT200 m for facilities renewal of Mangyshlak atomic plant in 2003. In the beginning of the next year additional KZT250 m is supposed to be spent. Thereby, the main and the most important task - replacement of a fixed assets - is going to be resolved, because almost entire facilities require replacement, modernization and rehabilitation. As B. Ibrayev noted, fixed assets replacement should be made within short-term period. The schedule of works has been already composed in order to provide cities and enterprises with 100 percent reliable energy supply. "At present no 100% reliability exists, as damages, emergency situations take place", -B. Ibrayev noted. Today automation of a technological process of seawater conversion has been almost completed, sanitary conditions at plants have been improved, 2 energyblocks are being repaired, what will enable to expand plant capacity by 200 megawatt since March 2004 (working capacity of MAEC is 30 megawatt).
