Central security depository CJSC (Kazakhstan) informed about changes in procedures of GS circulation issued by the Ministry of finance at secondary market at the year end

/KASE, December 22, 03/ - Central security depository CJSC (Almaty) informed KASE with the official letter about procedures of bonds circulation issued by the Minitry of finance of Kazakhstan during the period December 24 - December 31, 2003. The letter states that in addition to planned activities, which follow from schedule of GS circulation established earlier, the central depository: - from December 24, 2003 will interrupt circulation of MEAKAM at secondary market of KASE (KZ6AK3112A74, KASE code - MAM120.001; KZT1,000, KZT36,850.4 mn, January 5, 1998 - December 31, 07, semi annual coupon 9.75%APR) due to planned advance repayment of these securities on December 25, 2003; - from December 25 to December 26, 2003 will interrupt circulation of those GS issued by the Ministry of finance, interest and principal repayment on which are supposed to be made from December 25 to December 31, 2003, and in particular: - indexed on tenge devaluation governmental special compensative treasury bonds of the first issue (МАОКО-12, KZK9KY010010, KZT1, KZT4,861,145.0 ths, December 19, 02 - December 30, 03, annual coupon 6.78%APR indexed face value); - МЕККАМ-3 of 297th issue (KZK1KM032973, KASE code - MKM003.297, KZT100, September 30, 03 - December 30, 03, discount of 5.86%APR); - МЕОКАМ-60 of 8th issue (KZK2KY050088, KZT1,000, KZT107,580.0 ths, June 28, 02 - June 27, 07; semiannual coupon 8.50% APR); - from December 29 of 2003 will resume circulation of MEOKAM-60 of 8th issue at secondary market of Kazakhstan(KZK2KY050088). Other GS of the Ministry of finance, coupon payment dates on which fall on December 25 and December 26, 2003 will be blocked by central depository according to common procedures established earlier. From oral explanations of central depository employees, it follows that MAOKO-12 repayment and calculation of coupon amount will be made at official exchange rate of tenge to dollar set by the National bank of Kazakhstan as of December 26, 2003.
