According to the National Bank's data the amount of net pension assets in Kazakhstan is $2,229.3 m by the beginning of September of 2003

/IRBIS, September 19, 03/ - According to the data of Department financial supervision of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (the Department) amount of the net pension assets (PA) in the country (amount of pension assets excluding liabilities on the charged commissions, accounts payable on pension payments) equaled by September 1, 2003 to KZT328,753.5 m or $2,229.3 m at the weighted average stock exchange's rate determined on this date. Comparable indicator as of August 1, 2003 was KZT316,656.9 m or $2,158.4 m. In August accumulative pension funds' (APF) net assets increased by 3.82% in tenge and by 3.29% - in currency. In July of 2003 assets increased by 0.52% in tenge and by 1.09% - in currency. By the beginning of September of 2003 total sum of PA was KZT329,070.3 m, KZT326,927.0 m of them were invested. In all within August of 2003 eight pension assets management companies (PAMC) and 16 APF were functioning in the country. The table below characterizes assets volumes of each fund (KZT mil unless otherwise specified) and distribution of assets of APF on PAMC as of September 1. The second one is the Company of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan on pension assets management (23.7%). On the third place is PAMC ZHETYSU (19.9%). APF KAPITAL CJSC has the highest speed of assets increase in August (8.7% in tenge and 8.1% in currency expression). In absolute expression APF of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan CJSC has the biggest sum of assets increase (its assets increased within the month by KZT1,946.3 m). The second place belongs to APF UlarUmit CJSC (growth by KZT1,610.6 m), then ABN AMRO-KaspiyMunaiGas APF CJSC (growth by KZT606.9 m). Invested assets on financial instruments as of September 1 were distributed in the following way (with the purpose of clearness of tendencies in parentheses data for two previous months given in reverse chronological order): - mid- and long-term domestic GS of the Ministry of Finance (KZT) - 14.16% (12.31%; 11.32%); - eurobonds of Kazakhstan sovereign debt (USD) - 15.96% (16.33%; 17.20%); - short-term domestic GS of the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank (KZT) - 24.96% (26.36%; 21.66%); - bonds of domestic executive bodies of Kazakhstan (USD) - 0.34% (0.37%; 0.38%); - shares of foreign issuers (foreign currencies) - 0.80% (0.82%; 0.86%); - corporate bonds of foreign issuers (foreign currencies) - 1.98% (2.03%; 2.70%); - foreign states' securities - 2.36% (2.73%; 2.94%); - securities of international financial organizations (foreign currencies) - 6.87% (6.17%; 6.95%); - Kazakhstan companies' shares - 3.90% (4.12%; 4.07%); - Kazakhstan companies' bonds - 22.55% (22.62%; 22.55%); - deposits and deposit certificates (KZT) - 5.61% (5.54%; 8.87%); - deposits and deposit certificates (foreign currencies) - 0.50% (0.53%; 0.50%). The shown data graphically illustrate the main tendency of August: increasing of the volume of pension assets investments first of all into mid- and long-term domestic bonds of the Ministry of finance, which again appeared at the market in big volumes.
