Volume of uranium extraction of NAC Kazatomprom totaled 734.4 tons in Q1 2003

/Kazakhstan today, July 9, 03/ - Volume of uranium extraction in Q1 grew by 16.5% relative to the corresponding period of the last year and totaled 734.4 tons, plan was fulfilled at 107.8%. It was informed today in the press-service of NAC Kazatomprom. Production of protoxide-oxide grew by 27% relative to corresponding period of 2001 and totaled 727.2 tons. Volume of production of uranium pellets totaled 101.57 tons, powder of uranium dioxide - 73.1 tons, beryllium products - 135.2 tons, tantalum products - 39.11 tons, columbic products - 17.7 tons, hydrofluoric acid - 785.12 tons. Sales volume in monetary expression for Q1 2003 amounted to KZT6,747.2 m. Consolidated revenues from the primary activity for Q1 2003 for NAC Kazatomprom totaled KZT1,184.2 m. Consolidated net income with income from re-evaluation of materials and fixed assets at their disposal, minority share and goodwill amortization for the reported period totaled KZT1,211.4 m. In Q1 2003 expected volume of investments in south ore department of RK was equal to KZT719.4 m including: investments in spade-works - KZT367.1 m, investments in fixed assets and capital construction - KZT250 m. For the first quarter of 2003 volume of investment in uranium production of UMP OJSC totaled KZT141.7 m, in beryllium production - KZT27.3 m, in tantalum production - 118.5 m.
