Within five months of 2003 oil- and gas-extracting companies extracted 20854.2 th. tons of oil and gas condensate - MEMR of Kazakhstan

/Kazakhstan today, June 17, 03/ - According to on-line data of the ministry of
energy and mineral resources of RK (MEMR OF RK), within five months of
2003 oil- and gas-extracting companies extracted 20854.2 th. tons of oil and
gas condensate that is higher by 12.6% than the level of similar period of last
year (in January-May of 2002 volume of extraction equaled to 18522.5 th.
tons). A correspondent of KZ-today was informed about it by the press-
service of MEMR of RK.
Export of oil within the passed period equaled to 11.4 m. tons, including by
oil pipeline Atyrau-Samara - 5.6 m. tons, CPC - 5.4 m. tons, port Aktau -
2.2 m. tons.
In this year building of the first starting complex of the oil pipeline
Kenkiyak- Atyrau was finished. Works on the North-Caspian project are
continued.
As the whole oil supplies to petroleum refineries were made in full volume.
Volume of refining for 5 was 129.9% (3870 th. tons) relative to similar period
of last year. All petroleum refineries increased level of refining: HOP - by
18%, APR - by 40%, PPR - by 43.9%.
Besides, as MEMR of RK has informed, on May 16 Kazakhstan President
Nursultan Nazarbayev signed decree "About state program of development
of Kazakhstan sector of Caspian sea". In accordance with the program all
works on development of Kashagan field will be continued.
