KASE conducts award ceremony for participants of educational project among students "Exchange Simulator"

/KASE, December 20, 2020/ – On December 15, 2020 Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE)
conducted a ceremony to finish the student project "Exchange Simulator". The
event took place online, in the Zoom.
During one month, from November 16 to December 15, students from 40 universities
(1,147 students) competed for the first places. Each of them had a virtual
million tenge under trust management for concluding deals of sale-purchase of
10 most liquid shares (see the detailed list below).
Based on the competition results, the following winners were determined:
1) Jokhangir Isakhanov, student of the Kazakh-German University – the final
portfolio was KZT2,301,179;
2) Smail Smatov, student of Nazarbayev University – the final portfolio was
KZT2,286,519;
3) Artem Ott, student of the Kazakh-German University – the final portfolio
amounted to KZT1,988,934;
4) Dilmurat Nurakhmetov, student of University "Turan" – the final portfolio was
KZT1,834,340;
5) Nursultan Zhalynbet, student of the University "Narkhoz" – the final
portfolio amounted to KZT1,645,668;
6) Saken Mazhitov, student of Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz –
the final portfolio amounted to KZT1,571,463;
7) Sarra Ismailova, student of the International University of Information
Technologies – the final portfolio amounted to KZT1,529,098;
8) Veronika Rotnova, student of the Kazakh-Russian International University –
the final portfolio was KZT1,415,788;
9) Anastasia Melnikova, student of the University "Turan" – the final portfolio
amounted to KZT1,412,795 tenge;
10) Dos Magazbekov, student of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University –
the final portfolio amounted to KZT1,386,764.
In 2020 the project enjoyed support from four partners – professional market
participants. The winners will receive the following prizes:
- BCC Invest, subsidiary of Bank CenterCredit – salaried placement for two
student-winners;
- Centras Securities – salaried placement for two student-winners;
- Investment company "Freedom Finance" – general training for all students
before the start of the trading on the subject of "How to invest, the art of
investing" and in-depth training for five student-winners;
- Refinitiv – access for one months for 100, who took the first places based on
results of the trading, to the international terminal.
This year the project is being implemented for the 12th time. The interest of
students in the Exchange Simulator is growing – over the entire history of the
project, more than eight and a half thousand students from 80 universities of
Kazakhstan, countries of near and far abroad took part in it. Below is
information on all concluded deals by instruments for the period from November
16 to December 15, 2020:

The total volume of deals following the results of training trades reached
KZT11,522.9 mln, with 24,911 concluded. The maximum amount of deals per person
was KZT1.568 mln, the maximum number of deals per participant was 1,147.
The largest number of participants was represented by the L.N. Gumilyov
Eurasian National University – 165 users. The highest activity was shown by the
students of the Kazakh-British Technical University – 72 % of active
participants.

The purpose of the project is to improve the financial literacy of young
professionals and to let them acquire practical skills for working in the stock
market. The main task of students is to form the best portfolio, which
determines the winners of the competition.
This competition has been held by the KASE group of companies since 2008.
