In May of 2003 volume of deals on GS purchase and sale at KASE totaled KZT20.7 bn and increased by 54.8% relative to April

/IRBIS, June 2, 03/ - In May of year 2003, in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange's (KASE) GS purchase and sale sector 269 deals for the total amount of KZT20,657.9 m ($137.0 m) were fixed. Last month number of deals, which was 268, reached KZT13,344.0 m ($87.8 m). During the month exchange's turnover in the sector increased by 54.8% in tenge and 56.1% in dollars. Relative to May of 2002 the exchange's turnover increased by 60.8% (by KZT7,807.5 m). In primary floatation sector successful specialized trades on primary floatation of municipal indexed bonds of Atyrau oblast of the fourth (KZЕ4KY050046, ART060.004, KZT3,400,000,000, KZT100, May 16, 03 - May 13, 08, semi-annual coupon 8.50% APR) issue were held. During floatation there were made 10 deals to the total amount of KZT3,393,000,000.00. In purchase and sale sector there were made 259 deals to the total amount of KZT17,265.9 m. In comparison with previous month turnover in the sector increased by 29.4%.
