/KASE, October 6, 2020/ – Samruk-Energy (Nur-Sultan), whose bonds are
officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with
the following communique dated October 6, 2020:

Samruk-Energy JSC completed the program of complete modernization of
Shardara HPP. As part of the project, with a total cost of KZT38 bn, all four
hydroelectric units of the station were replaced. The new hydroelectric units
will allow increasing the generation of electricity at hydroelectric power
plants from 480 to 537 mln kWh per year.
The construction was carried out by the Austrian-German company Andritz
Hydro GmbH. Large-scale reconstruction increased the capacity of the HPP from
100 to 126 MWt. According to specialists of the Kazakh electric power holding
company, the project is of great importance for providing electricity to the
energy-deficient Turkestan region and increasing the efficiency of water
resources use in the region.
