In the first half of 2020, the LTD «Batumi Oil Terminal» Groups (100% owned by
KazTransOil JSC) increased the transshipment of oil, dry, ferry and container
cargo by 18% compared to the same period last year. The total volume of cargo
transshipment was 3 003 thousand tons.
The volume of transshipment of oil and petroleum products decreased to 409 thousand
tons, which is 16% less than in the first half of 2019. This decrease is due to
the ongoing maintenance work at the refinery in Turkmenistan, as well as to the
reduced demand for light petroleum products as a result of the current situation
caused by the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, the LTD «Batumi oil terminal»
Groups increased the transshipment of Kazakhstan liquefied gas by 57% compared to
the same period last year to 62 thousand tons.
