KASE determined leading operators of the exchange's GS purchase-sale sector for January of 2003

/IRBIS, February 3, 03/ - Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) defined list of
companies - leading operators of the KASE government securities (GS)
purchase-sale market for January of 2003.
The place in the list is given according to portion of concluded deals in
aggregate gross turnover of trades (total of purchased and sold bonds). At
that, unlike 2002 only purchase-sale deals (12.7% of the secondary market)
were taken into account because reverse and direct repo transactions (87.3%
of stock exchange's secondary GS market). The position of each entity was
expressed in currency of the payments - tenge.
A total of 25 companies participated in trades with GB at KASE in August
excluding the National Bank of Kazakhstan (banks, broker-dealer companies,
pension assets management companies, SAPF, non-banking financial
organizations), which controlled 93.5% of corresponding sector's turnover of
stock exchange's market. Below is the list of 10 the most active operators
given in descending order of their shares in total deals volume and also their
positions in December of 2002, which have been calculated by new methods.
