/Kazakhstan today, January 7, 03/ - NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy CJSC (KTZh)
in 2003 will start realization of the project on building of 150 locomotives.
About this a correspondent of KZ-today was informed by the press-service of
KTZh today, January 7.
According to the press-service's information, the first two electrolocomotives
will be made in Shyiski locomotive depot of component parts of Chinese company
on locomotives production Dong Fang, which won tender for supplying 150
locomotives till the year 2007 for the total amount of $190 m. As was noted in
the press-service, locomotive has been equipped with power-plant General
Electric. After developing of the production, locomotives will be made of the
component parts of domestic production as well. In all probability, locomotives
production will be placed on other depots of KTZh as well.
New locomotives are meant for substitution of old ones, which have run out of
their resource. At present NC KTZh exploits about 2000 locomotives, about 50%
of them have been physically oil.
