In December of 2002 transactions volume on GS at KASE in all sectors of the market totaled KZT394.5 bn and decreased by 9.0% relative to November
/IRBIS, January 5, 03/ - In December of year 2002, deals volume on GS at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in all sectors of the market accounted for 2,230 deals for the total amount of KZT394,489.2 m ($2,534.7 m). Last month 2,261 deals reached the volume KZT433,639.8 m ($2,808.9 m). During the month exchange turnover of GS decreased by 9.03% in tenge and 9.76% in dollar. Relative to December of 2001 the exchange turnover rose 2.3 times (by KZT220.8 m).
In the sale-purchase sector 365 deals were made for total amount of KZT67,350.9 m. In comparison with previous month a turnover in the sector increased 1.96 times.

In repo sector of KASE 1,865 deals were registered for a total of KZT327,138.3 m in December. Corresponding figure for the previous month - 1,960 deals for KZT399,357.9 m. The share of automatic repo sector in December was 63.4% of total volume of made repo deals, in November - 62.8%.
In December the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstan secondary market of GS based on comparable transactions (including repo deals) equaled 82.1%, in November - 94.5%.
