KazTransOil CJSC intends to increase volumes of oil transportation through pipeline Atyrau-Samara up to 25 m tons a year

/Kazakhstan today, December 25, 02/ - KazTransOil CJSC intends to increase volumes of oil transportation through pipeline Atyrau-Samara up to 25 m tons a year. At present 15 m tons a year are pumped through the pipeline. About this today, December 24 in Almaty was stated by deputy general director of KazTransOil CJSC Sabr Yesimbekov. According to Yesimbekov's information, at present specialists of two companies KazTransOIl CJSC and AK "Transneft" OJSC actively work over this project. Yesimbekov informed that "there had been achieved agreements that all works on Kazakhstan part, on increasing of the pipeline's capacity would be made by KazTransOil CJSC, and all works on Russian part will be made by Russian colleagues". According to Yesimbekov's data, "Ukrainian institute of oil transport makes for us TEG of this project. Already in Spring we will be able to determine its exact cost. We plan that by 2005 we will have the level equaling to about 25 m tons a year". Yesimbekov also noted that "taking into account dynamics of latest years since 2000, the capacity was increased from 11 m tons to 16.5 m tons in 2003. We suppose that Russian direction will remain one of the priority ones for us in next years, at least till 2005". In Yesimbekov's opinion, "direction Atyrau-Samara and further - Baltic pipeline system and Druzhba will be good answer for increasing volumes of oil production in Caspian region". [2002-12-25]
