/Kazakhstan today, December 20, 02/ - In Kazakhstan development of the conception of uranium industry - 2030 NAC Kazatomprom is coming to the end. About this today, December 20 a correspondent of KZ-today was informed by the president of NAC Kazatomprom Mukhtar Dzhakishev. According to Dzhakishev 's information Kazakhstan has great reserves of uranium. "Today we have problems concerning the market, however we think that uranium market will be growing anyway". At present, according to Dzhakishev's data, NAC Kazatomprom extracts only 40% of uranium. "In our program of uranium industry development - 2030 we intend to make the schedule of increasing volume of uranium extraction, i.e., this is the matter of development of 60%". According to Dzhakishev's words, "it should be made rather quickly, within 4-5 years, maximal deadline is10-12 years". In Dzhakishev's opinion, "the major thing, which the program comprises is to win the race and become the first in the world on uranium extraction and sale". [2002-12-20]
