As of November 01, 2002 total state debt of Kazakhstan, issued as GS, reached KZT334.1bn or $2,164.4m along with servicing

/IRBIS, November 5, 02/ - As of November 1, 2002 total state debt of Kazakhstan, issued as government securities (GS), including municipal bonds, along with the servicing (amount of coupon payments) equaled in current prices KZT334.1bn, or $2,164.4m at KZT154.35 per dollar rate. The specialists of IRBIS came to this conclusion after making the analysis on the database of the agency. When making this analysis the payments on MEIKAM were calculated along with the consumer price index, which was fixed for the period from August to October of the current year. Since October 01 through 31, 2002 total debt decreased by 43,039.1m (- 11.44%) in tenge, in dollar equivalent (taking into account change in the rate of the National Bank) - by 275,679.2 th. (-11.30%). Corresponding figures of September of 2002 were +KZT8,138.5m (+2.21%) or +$46,464.5 th. (+1.94%). The sharp decrease of debt's volume was caused by redemption on October 2 of euronotes of Kazakhstan sovereign debt in the amount of USD350m that was partly recompensed by issue of internal bonds of the Ministry of finance, National Bank and akimat of Astana.
