In October of 2002 transactions volume on GS at KASE in all sectors of the market totaled KZT285.1bn and decreased by 4.0% relative to August

/IRBIS, November 1, 02/ - In October of year 2002, deals volume on GS at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in all sectors of the market accounted for 1,869 deals for the total amount of KZT285,093.0m ($1,846.4m). In last month at 1,599 deals the volume reached KZT296,904.7m ($1,920.7m). For the month exchange turnover of GS decreased by 3.98% in tenge and 3.87% in dollar. Relative to October of 2001 the exchange turnover rose 2.4 times (by KZT166.8m). In the sector of primary floatation effective specialized trades on floatation of municipal bonds of Astana city of the second (KZZ4KY030048, AST036.004, KZT1,633,000,000, KZT100, Oct 11, 02 - Oct 9, 05, semi- annual coupon) and the fifth (KZZ4KY040054, AST048.005, KZT967,000,000, KZT100, Oct 11, 02 - Oct 9, 06, semi-annual coupon) have been conducted. There has been made seven deals in the total amount of KZT2,600,000,000.00m. In the sale-purchase sector 307 deals were made for total amount of KZT24,262.7m. In comparison with previous month a turnover in the sector decreased by 28.4%. In October the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstan secondary market of GS based on comparable transactions (including repo deals) equaled 89.4%, in September - 95.2%.
