NC KazMunaiGas CJSC informed about results of financial and economic activity for 9 months of 2002

/IRBIS, October 31, 02/ - Today NC KazMunaiGas CJSC (Astana) distributed press-release, in which there were shown main results of financial and economic activity for 9 months of 2002. According to the distributed information oil production for the mentioned period reached 5,527 th. tons, that is more by 12.8% than in last year. In addition to the plan there has been received 292 th. tons of oil. Gas production for 9 months reached 909.9 m cubic meters whereas the plan was 896.4 m cubic meters. These indicators have been achieved due to investments into production building, drilling of exploitation wells, usage of new methods of improvement of bed's oil recovery, renewal of special technics park, chemicalixation of oil production processes. Within the reporting period there have been put into service 134 new wells from drilling, 198 oil wells from inactivity. There have been made major repairs of 959 wells and underground repair at 8,935 wells. Petroleum refinery volume for 9 months of 2002 reached 1,680 th. tons of oil, that equals to 102.5% of the plan and by 0.8% lower than in last year. Total volume of oil transportation for 9 months of 2002 is 22,020 th. tons, that is less by 8.7% in comparison with the same period of 2001 (24,128 th. tons). Decrease of oil volumes was caused by setting in exploitation of the pipeline CPC and distraction from the system of KazTransOIl CJSC (subsidiary organization of NC KazMunaiGas CJSC) significant volume sof tengiz oil. For 9 months of 2002 there were rendered international services on Kazakhstan oil transportation by sea in the volume of 2,742 th. tons that exceeds planned indicators by 15.1% to ports of Azerbaijan (Baku), Georgia (Batumi), Iran (Neka) and Russia (Makhachkala). Gas transportation by gas-main pipelines for 9 months of 2002 equaled to 82,577 bn cubic meters that is lower by 8% than similar indicator of 2001. The decrease occurred as the result of volume reduction of Russian gas transit, however it did not impact the general level of incomes from this activity, which increased by 9.7% in comparison with similar period of last year as a result of increase of the share of Turkmen gas transportation by gas-main pipelines Middle Asia - Center. Due to production export of Karachaganak field there has significantly increased supply of Kazakhstan gas for export in comparison with similar period of last year - 4.4 bn cubic meters against 0.7 bn cubic meters in last year. In the reporting period growth of oil production volume, structure of supplies, and also actually formed prices for oil determined level of the received income from sale of goods, works and services. As a whole NC KazMunaiGas CJSC for 9 months of 2002 equaled to KZT261.6bn that is more by 14.5% than this indicator of 2001. Volume of capital investments of NC KazMunaiGas CJSC in the first half year of 2002 was KZT37,087 m, that is more by 10.1% that the level of similar period of last year (KZT33,691 m). It is said in the press-release that NC KazMunaiGas CJSC is the largest tax-payer in the republic of Kazakhstan.
