/Kazakhstan today, September 27, 02/ - Possible changes of the pension
legislation, on which deputies of senate of Kazakhstan Parliament insist, may
"impair ideology of the pension system as the whole". About this a
correspondent of KZ-today was stated in interview by deputy Board of
Association of Kazakhstan pension funds Aidar Alibayev.
According to Alibayev's words, in spring of 2002 there was made offer about
imposing of compulsory 10% pension deductions from salary, which does not 50
minimal salaries ($1300-1350). In case salary is more than 50 MS, it is offered
to impose from exceeding sum not pension deduction but taxes.
Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan declined the offer. At the same time,
according to the information of the Association of Kazakhstan pension funds, at
Autumn session deputies of the senate went back to examining it.
In the opinion of Alibayev, all citizens of Kazakhstan, irrespective of
earning, must live under equal conditions. "Trust in the State is made by firm
and unchangeable rules", he said. According to the association's data, there
are about 10 th. persons in the whole country, whose salary is more than $1350.
"Thus, tax deductions from their salaries will not make significant changes for
the country's budget, but they can raise dissatisfaction of people", - added
Alibayev.
