/KASE, July 29, 02/ - By decision of Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) Board
starting from August 12, 2002 BANK CASPIAN (Almaty) is deprived of its market-
maker status of Russian rouble.
The reason for decision made was an application of BANK CASPIAN OJSC on
voluntary rejection of market -maker status.
In its commentary BANK CASPIAN OJSC informed that decision of voluntary
rejection of market-maker status of rouble at KASE is related with a low
activity of trades in this currency on exchange floors.
Bank also informed that for permanent counteragents of Russian rouble at over-
the-counter market quotations will be set by BANK CASPIAN OJSC in the same
order at "maximum competitive base".
So, after August 12 one market maker of Russian rouble - Bank TuranAlem
OJSC (Almaty) - will be operating.
