In May of 2002 transactions volume on GS at KASE in all sectors of the market totaled KZT164.7bn and decreased by 6.0% relative to April

/IRBIS, June 3, 02/ - In May of year 2002, deals volume on GS at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in all sectors of the market accounted for 1,458 deals for the total amount of KZT164,655.0m ($1,076.3m). In last month at 1,638 deals the volume reached KZT175,114.8m ($1,146.1m). For the month exchange turnover of GS decreased by 5.97%. Relative to May 2001 the exchange turnover rose 2.5 times (by KZT98,453.3bn). In the sale-purchase sector 286 deals were made for total amount of KZT12,850.4m. In comparison with previous month a turnover in the sector decreased by 24.6%. A share of automatic repo sector in May was 87.9% of total volume of made repo deals, in April - 93.1%. In May the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstan secondary market of GS based on comparable transactions (including euronotes and repo deals) equaled 90.4%, in April - 92.3%).
