Kazakhstan oil export rose by 12% in January-November 2001

/Almaty bureau REUTERS, Jan 15, 02/ - REUTERS informs, with the
reference to the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, that oil and gas
condensate exports grew by 12% in January-November of 2001 compared
to similar period of 2000, at 29.366m tons, including 8.075m tons to CIS
countries.
Total value of the oil and gas condensate export increased by 1.0% during
January-November, up to $3.980bn.
For the whole year 2001 Kazakhstan extracted 39.7m tons of oil and gas
condensate in comparison with 35.3m tons in previous year.
Minerals accounted for 59% of exports of Kazakhstan in January-November
2001.
As the Statistics agency informs, total Kazakhstan exports decreased by 3%
in January-November of 2001 against previous period and reached
$7,975.6m. Trade balance surplus equaled $2,188.2m.

Main export partners of Kazakhstan during 11 months of year 2001 were
Russia (20.3% of exports), Bermuda islands (14.8%) and Italy (11.1%).
